“Baby, it's cold outside!” Join us at Vino di Sedona's indoor JBTwo for a night of music, wine, food and fun on Wednesday, January 10th from 5pm to 8pm.
JBTwo are Jill Bateman (vocals, ukulele, lead kazoo) and Pat Tucci (vocals, guitar, sometimes baritone ukulele). They play an eclectic mix of classic rock and blues, incorporating a few other genres to keep things interesting. They've played several shows at Vino di Sedona and other venues over the past few years, and can be seen performing together and individually at open mic nights and jam sessions in the Verde Valley.
Jill has spent most of her musical life as a vocalist. She majored in music in college, and she learned the requisite piano and a little bit of guitar. She is in groups that cover a variety of genres, including jazz, country, blues, rock, and even a cappella. She has performed with the Jill Bateman Trio in the Scottsdale area for the past 10 years, frequenting the Herb Box and performing at the Musical Instrument Museum. Since she moved to Sedona, ukuleles seem to have become a rarity in the area. According to Jill, “I was less than 5 feet tall than her, so it was a perfect fit. Who knew you could also use it for blues and Irish jigs?” After meeting at a local open mic, Jill and I Pat found their place in the local music scene.
Pat is responsible for all of JBTwo's guitar playing and plays both 6-string and 12-string acoustic guitars in the band. He is a featured vocalist on several songs and adds his harmonies to Jill's vocals on many songs. He is known for tweaking song lyrics to suit his local scene. Pat has been playing guitar since his teenage years in upstate New York and was influenced by various blues musicians early on. Blues is his favorite music, but he is also a big fan of the Beatles, Dan Fogelberg, Chuck Berry, Yes, and many others. “When he moved to Sedona about six years ago, he was immediately impressed by the great music scene and the high quality of musicians in the area,” Pat said.
JBTwo has a set list for just about everyone, with a unique twist on classic rock, blues, oldies, and other genres. Please come dance and sing with us! Videos and samples of some of JBTwo's songs are online at ReverbNation.com/jbtwo and can be found on his JBTwo music on Facebook.
