Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, told Daily Caller Editor-in-Chief Vince Collanese on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris, D-Minn. He said he ignored Gov. Tim Walz.
Mr. Vance and Mr. Walz faced off in the only vice presidential debate scheduled for October 1, but Mr. Walz appeared nervous and occasionally made slips of the tongue. Vance explained on “Vince Collanney’s Show” that while he could have attacked Walz on a variety of issues during the debate, he thought it would be more effective to highlight Harris’ shortcomings.
“In a way, you hit the nail on the head. I was trying to convince people who didn’t fully understand how radical and incompetent the Harris administration was. I kind of poked fun at this. “Well, you can attack Tim Walz over his career, his false statements, the tampons in the men’s room, or any number of other crazy things he’s done,” Vance said. Ta.
“But I realized that most Americans still don’t have a strong view of Kamala Harris. So why not use my opportunity to talk about her record? “To criticize the way the administration has actually been run for three and a half years, to criticize the tie-breaking vote to open the borders and trillions of dollars in new spending,” Vance added. “I would like to ask the American people why I think Kamala Harris is so incompetent and why Donald Trump’s tenure has been so much better on things like secure borders and higher take-home pay. “So I kind of ignored Tim Walz, both he and I. Obviously, I had to respond to some of his points. Actually, he was better. There are some issues that I think are more reasonable than she is,” Vance said. “So I tried to use that to emphasize how radical she is. That was the strategy I went into it. I had 90 minutes to speak to about 50 million Americans. Why not tell them why you think Donald Trump is a good president and Kamala Harris is a bad president? That’s the best use of your time.”
During the debate, Walz made several gaffes, including claiming that he was friends with the school shooter, and becoming furious when asked if he was in Hong Kong during the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre. committed a crime.
