JD Vance Says It’s ‘Astonishing’ For Kamala Harris To Say There’s No US Service Members In Harm’s Way

Republican vice presidential nominee and Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance on Wednesday asserted that Vice President Kamala Harris is unfit for duty. No US soldiers are in danger.

Harris said During Tuesday night's debate, Vance said there are “not a single” U.S. soldier currently in combat or military zones around the world. Speaking on Fox News' “The Story with Martha MacCallum,” he said the vice president has no recognition that U.S. soldiers are in danger and that her “approach to public policy is thin.”

“I'm astonished that the vice president would say something like this,” Vance said. “Just a few weeks ago, American troops were seriously injured by Iranian-backed militias. She's actually serving as vice president and doesn't seem to know that her men are not only in danger, not only in combat zones, but actually being injured in recent weeks. And it also shows how shallow and superficial Kamala Harris' approach to public policy is. She's someone who doesn't know what's going on.”

The Pentagon confirmed on August 13 that Iranian-backed militias had wounded eight U.S. soldiers in a Syria-based drone attack in early August, Reuters reported. ReportedEight soldiers were treated for traumatic brain injuries and smoke inhalation as a result of the attack. “Whatever disagreements I may have with Kamala Harris' policies — and believe me, I have a lot of disagreements — I don't want a vice president who doesn't even know our troops are being put at risk. That's not the kind of person to be president,” Vance continued.

The vice presidential nominee said the Biden-Harris administration's border policies have allowed dangerous foreigners to enter the United States and undermined the country's security and economy.

During the debate, Harris never Mentioned On August 26, 2021, he spoke about the 13 U.S. soldiers killed during a botched withdrawal in Kabul, the Afghan capital, during a question about withdrawing from the region. President Joe Biden falsely claimed during a June 27 debate that he was the first president in the past decade to have zero American deaths overseas while he was in command.

“When he was president, people were still being killed in Afghanistan, and he didn't do anything about it,” Biden said. “When he was president, we still had the notion that we were a safe country. The truth is, I'm the only president who [in] “There has not been a time in this century, in this decade, anywhere in the world where soldiers have not died.”

Republican nominee Donald Trump attended a memorial at Arlington National Cemetery marking the third anniversary of the deaths of 13 soldiers while Biden was vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Harris did not attend any public events related to the military deaths.
