The idea for a possible reunion movie for the popular series “The Office” came up during Bryan Cranston's appearance on the “Office Ladies” podcast on January 31st.
Cranston proposed a movie rather than a traditional reboot of the series. He discussed this idea when he appeared on “Office Lady.” podcasthosted by former “The Office” cast members Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey.
“Let's say there's no reboot series, but what if there was a movie?” Cranston asked Fisher and Kinsey. “To a place where we can see where these people are. All these people in the cast that we're interested in. We ended up wondering where did they go? What happened?”
Fisher said he is open to working on the reboot as long as original series creator Greg Daniels is on board with the project.
“I believe that. You know what? As long as Greg is writing and he's in charge, I say yes,” the actress responded.
Kinsey also expressed enthusiasm for the idea. “We're going to do that because we think the kids will find it fun,” Kinsey said.

Cranston directed the “Work Bus” episode for Season 9 of “The Office.” Despite his connection to the series, he chose small, non-voiced roles in potential film adaptations.

While the film concept may be a great idea, the reboot is currently being envisioned as a television series, albeit with a fresh narrative approach. Daniels expressed his desire to explore new stories within the same world rather than revisit the original characters' journeys. He suggested a format similar to an expanded version of The Mandalorian from the Star Wars saga. according to For variety.
“I feel like we ended that story beautifully,” Daniels said. “The characters had come to an end. I don't want to do the same show again with a different cast, because I think that show had the luckiest cast in television, the best cast of all time. , I'm not interested in the concept of a reboot.”
