Jeremy Renner Makes Startling Admission About The Future Of His Acting Career

Jeremy Renner ruefully admitted that his career will never be the same after he was seriously injured in a snowplow accident on January 1, 2023. It would be too hard.

The famous actor recently spoke candidly about his current situation and his future as an actor in an interview with Sean Hayes. “Smartless” podcastRenner said that although he has returned to acting, he is still in recovery and can no longer take on more demanding roles.

“I just don't have the energy for it,” Renner said. “I don't have the fuel.”

Renner was run over and crushed by a 14,000 pound Pisten Bully snow grooming machine in a horrific accident. He was flown by helicopter to hospital where he required multiple surgeries for numerous broken bones and injuries. After months of intensive rehabilitation, the famous actor is finally able to walk again, first with a cane and now without it. His recovery has been incredible, but he's not done yet, and he continues to overcome obstacles every day.

“I have so much energy to put into this reality, this body, all of this. I can't just play around in fantasy right now,” Renner said on the podcast.

“It takes a lot to come here every day with a positive mindset, to keep moving forward and always keep growing,” he explained.

Renner has since returned to film the third season of Kingstown, and admitted he was “very scared” about returning to acting.

“Because I have to do some f**king fiction, you know? I'm still trying to live in reality, I'm trying to survive. So that was a hard line for me to cross,” Renner explained.

“It was a big challenge. For me, it was very difficult mentally to get over that barrier.”

The famous actor said he plans to continue giving it his all, but he has definitely had to make a conscious effort to adapt.

“I still struggle sometimes to not take it too seriously. I'm playing a role that I'm very good at, and I know the show very well, so it was a smooth transition back into it,” he said of his role on “Mayor of Kingstown.”

Renner explained the limitations of his abilities.

“I don't mean it's challenging, because the show is challenging, but if I have to play Damar or something, that's the furthest thing from me,” he said.

“But if it had been a very difficult role, I wouldn't have been able to take it,” he said. (RELATED: 'It's Going to Last Forever': Jeremy Renner Admits He'll Never Fully Recover From Snowplow Accident)
