Jordan Supports Whistleblower Claims Against Schiff
On Tuesday, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan from Ohio expressed to Fox News that he considers the whistleblowers who accused Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff from California of fraud to be credible.
An FBI memo from 2017 indicates that these whistleblowers alleged that Schiff authorized a leak of classified information aimed at targeting then-President Donald Trump. At that time, Schiff was indeed part of the family. During an appearance on “Ingraham’s Angle,” Jordan encouraged these whistleblowers to reach out to his staff, explaining the reasons they believe they can be trusted.
“I hope that whistleblowers will come forward and talk to staff. We’ve dealt with dozens of whistleblowers in the last few years. I hope they’ll come forward. But all I know is whether this guy can be trusted—seems to me he is,” Jordan said. The reason he trusts them, he added, is based on previous patterns they’ve displayed.
Jordan referenced documents released by the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, which claim that former President Barack Obama and his national security team politicized the intelligence community after Trump’s 2016 election win.
“They were leaking information to friendly news outlets to push a false narrative of President Trump colluding with the Russians and that the election was compromised. It’s all nonsense. We had extensive research, and of course, there was information that Tulsi just put out three weeks ago showing what they were doing,” he remarked.
The Ohio Republican drew parallels between this situation and the so-called smear campaign against former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes. He mentioned, “What’s crucial is how they treated Chairman Nunes. They accused him of doing things he didn’t do. According to this whistleblower, they laid the blame on him for their own actions. It’s always their tactic—blame us for what they’re doing.”
Schiff’s office has dismissed these accusations as false and defamatory, asserting that they originated from former staff members who were terminated.
