Job fair for public service opportunities

Arizona @ Work Invites You to the First Responders and Law Enforcement Job Fair

Yuma, Arizona (KECY, KYMA) – Federal, state, and local agencies all have vacancies.

Meet at the MLK Jr. Youth Career Center in Yuma on Fridays from 10am to 1pm.

With multiple cities, reservations, and borders all within Yuma County, career opportunities in the public service abound.

“Instead of coming to different agencies looking for work, you can come here,” said Patrick Goetz of Arizona @ Work.

Goetz adds that working in this field doesn’t mean the job is dangerous.

“They are looking for detainees, support staff and clerks,” Goetz said.

One of the fair’s agencies is the Yuma Police Department (YPD).

Sergeant Lori Franklin just celebrated 20 years with YPD and says her work is paying off every step of the way.

“If you just want a job that helps your community and that you feel really good about in your community, talk to the agency and find out what works best for you,” says Franklin. .

Job seekers are encouraged to pre-register online.
