PHOENIX — Greenlee County is projected to experience the greatest job growth of any other Arizona county between 2022 and 2024.

That’s according to employment forecasts released Thursday by the Arizona Department of Economic Opportunity.

New jobs in Greenlee County are expected to grow by 3.6% by the second quarter of 2024, double that of Pinal County, which is expected to see a 1.8% job increase.

Graham County has the third highest projected job growth at 1.6%.

Greenlee and Graham top the list in percentage terms, but the actual number of new jobs projected is on the small side of 441 and 349 respectively.

Arizona is expected to create 90,625 new jobs by next year, with Maricopa County expected to have the largest share at 72,670.

All but one of Arizona’s employment sectors are expected to grow over the next year, led by manufacturing, which is projected to grow 3.4% (13,300 new jobs). Trade, transportation and utilities are expected to create the largest number of jobs at 18,557.

The only employment sector expected to decline is financial services, which is expected to lose 2,796 jobs, or a loss of 0.6%.
