Joe Rogan Critiques Tulsi Gabbard’s Placement on Terror Watch List

On a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” podcast host Joe Rogan expressed his outrage regarding the decision to place Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, on the terror suspect watch list during the Biden administration.

In 2024, whistleblowers disclosed that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Federal Aviation Security Administration (FAM) were monitoring Gabbard while she was traveling. Gabbard mentioned that she appeared on a TSA list connected to the “Quiet Skies” program. Rogan emphasized her extensive Congressional and military background, suggesting that the individuals responsible for placing her on the list should face legal consequences. He described the action as a severe misuse of authority.

“She spent eight years serving in Congress, and she’s been deployed twice in the medical corps during conflict,” he pointed out. “So labeling her a terrorist? Whoever authorized that should definitely be jailed. It’s just appalling. It reflects a gross misuse of power. You want to talk about how some countries target political opponents? This is a textbook example of that.”

Rogan further questioned the basis for Gabbard’s designation, remarking, “Eight years on a terrorist watch list? For what? There’s no justification. None of her erratic tweets seem to warrant that. She’s not even in the same category as someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who’s known for her wild statements. Tulsi is completely different. Putting her on that list is just shameful. It’s frankly embarrassing.”

According to Matt Taibbi’s reporting in 2024, Gabbard and her husband faced “random” searches at airports, lasting sometimes up to 45 minutes. Gabbard recounted, “It happened every time I got on a plane.” She elaborated on the intrusive nature of the searches: “They compress and stuff everything, from blazers to undergarments. Every detail of clothing is examined comprehensively.”

The “Quiet Skies” program, criticized by many, was officially terminated under the Trump administration last June. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem pointed out that the program had been used as a political tool against opponents, stating, “It’s evident the Biden administration weaponized it against those they oppose, benefitting their connected allies.”

Taibbi noted that after January 6, 2021, this program expanded to keep tabs on individuals who protested at the Capitol.
