John Durham Says FBI Agents ‘Apologized’ To Him For Trump-Russia Investigation

Former Special Counsel John Durham testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday that FBI agents told him about the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into former President Donald Trump and his campaign from 2016 to 2019. I apologize,” he said.

Durham was appointed a special counsel to investigate the roots of an investigation into the Trump campaign, later revealed that Trump did not collude with Russia to win the election, but an FBI investigation was involved in the investigation. I interviewed officials. According to Durham, these FBI agents were ashamed of their investigative work. Durham also said several other agents have apologized to Durham for the FBI’s actions. “Let me give you some real opinions. I have a number of FBI agents…they have come to me and apologized for the way they conducted their investigations.” [Crossfire Hurricane] has been carried out. They are good, hardworking, decent people,” Durham said of the report’s conclusion, which he called “solemn.” said in response to the question.

Durham also cited another instance of an FBI agent denouncing an investigation. In an exchange with Judiciary Commission Chairman Jim Jordan, Durham said one of the supervising special agents in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation tried to spread the idea that Russia was helping Trump. He said he was “emotional” when he was handed a memorandum on Hillary Clinton’s campaign efforts. – FBI Director James Comey did not share information with investigators.

“We interviewed the first supervisor, the operations person. We showed him the intelligence information. He said he had never seen it before. I got up and left the room with my lawyer and spent some time there before he came back,” Durham said.

“He was frustrated, wasn’t he? He was frustrated because this was important information for him to work on in this case … the FBI director kept it a secret from him while he worked on the investigation. ‘ asked Jordan.

“That information was kept secret from him,” Durham replied.

Information about the Clinton campaign propaganda that Russia was backing Trump was so serious that then-CIA Director John Brennan explained Clinton’s plans to President Barack Obama. The press conference was attended by then-Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and Comey, and the information was summarized in a “memorandum of inquiry” obtained by Comey and then-Assistant Attorney General Peter Strzok.

Comey and Strzok did not share information with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in seeking a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant seeking domestic surveillance of the person under investigation, separate from the investigators involved in the case. and did not share the information with government attorneys preparing warrant applications for the U.S. government. Court, according to testimony before the commission.

Durham’s findings were made public in a report sent to the Capitol on May 15, a copy of which was obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The report said the department’s decision to open an investigation into Trump failed to maintain “strict adherence to the law.”
