John Legend and Chrissy Teigen brought new joy to their family last week.
Teigen announced their baby boy Len Alexander Stevens was born June 18 by a surrogate mother instagram on wednesday.
“June 19th, mere minutes before midnight, I witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, our surrogate mother, giving birth in a little confusion, but with strength, pure joy and love. I could,” she wrote.
Teigen said the baby was partly named after a surrogate woman named Alexandra because she was “thankful for this wonderful gift” and so that they could maintain their “eternal connection”. He said it was for
The baby is the fourth child the model and EGOT winner has welcomed, and the first by a surrogate mother. Teigen said having her fourth child was especially important to her, especially after she suffered a miscarriage in 2020.
“For as long as I can remember, I always wanted four kids,” she continued in the post. “I never thought I could have more babies on my own after losing Jack. I remember being surrounded by people who wished that I would never go through that pain and loss again.”
The announcement comes after Legend and Teigen announced at a private concert in January that they welcomed their third child, Estee Maxine Stevens, earlier this year.
The Grammy Award-winning cookbook author Teigen’s third child came more than two years after Teigen’s third pregnancy ended in tragedy. In the fall of 2020, Teigen wrote a heartbreaking essay expressing her grief over the loss.
Two years later, Teigen revealed that her 2020 miscarriage was actually an abortion.
“Call it whatever you want. It was an abortion,” she said at a news conference in September. “An abortion to save my life for a baby who never had a chance. To be honest, I never really got it together until a few months ago.”
In August, Teigen announced his reunion with the legend on Instagram. She said she feels “hopeful and wonderful” about her pregnancy, even though she has had health issues in the past.
“Each appointment I’ve been telling myself, ‘If I’m healthy today, I’ll announce it,’ but when I hear my heartbeat and breathe a sigh of relief, I decide I’m still too nervous,” Teigen wrote. .
“I don’t think I’d finish an appointment more excited than nervous, but so far everything is perfect and beautiful…it’s been very difficult to sustain this for so long!”
