On CNN, a “reporter” interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris gushed, “I was shocked right in front of you!” Look into your eyes, with your passion…”
Really?
Harris also seemed confused.
My new video shows how the mainstream media treats conservatives and liberals differently.
We shouldn't be surprised.
Reporters overwhelmingly lean toward the Democratic Party. According to a study by American Journalist, there are 10 Democrats for every Republican in newsrooms. (Related: John Stossel: Is AI coming to your job?)
Reporters claim to be objective.
it's not.
news network everytime Covered the victory speech from the Iowa caucuses. Not this year – after Donald Trump won. CNN cut out his speech and MSNBC did not cover it at all.
NPR recently hired a new CEO. They chose Katherine Maher, who once tweeted, “Trump is a racist.” During the BLM looting, she tweeted, “It's hard to be angry at protests that don't prioritize the private property of systems of oppression.”
Now she's the president of a government-funded radio station?
Unfortunately, it is.
Recently, the media has been very angry about the rule of law. Furious anchors said, “Texas.” I refuse It's about surrendering to federal law. ” Texas politicians won't remove the fence that federal authorities told them to remove.
NBC was outraged and asked, “Why isn't the Biden administration suing Texas?”
That's actually a reasonable question. The rule of law is worthy of discussion.
However, when it comes to sanctuary cities, the media shows no such outrageous attitude.
These locations are simply “choose Disobeying federal immigration law,” the ABC anchor says.
They don't “reject” like Texas does.
Finally, the way the media labels politicians is ridiculous.
Argentina's new president, Javier Millay, is a liberal. He wants to shrink his country's corrupt bureaucracy.
That's why the media calls him a “far-right extremist.”
But we libertarians are not “far-right” or “right-wing.” Most of us want wars to end. We support free trade, same-sex marriage, drug decriminalization, and other things that are far from “far right.”
Millay hopes to increase the supply by legalizing the sale of donated organs. That's not “far right.” According to the American Economic Association, 43% of conservatives oppose organ sales.
However, the media slanders Millais, calling her “distant,” “hardline,” and “far-right.”
Probably because they want to reduce the size of government.
ignorant media like big government.
They exaggerate the proposed cuts.
“Republicans seek to hurt their own voters with severe budget cuts,” reads the actual Forbes headline. (The magazine went downhill after Steve Forbes stopped serializing it.)
What was a “tough” cut?
Last spring, instead of increasing spending by 7.8%, politicians “cut” the increase to 3.9%. How is that a “tough” cut?
The media sometimes labels people who don't agree with their ideas as “right-wing.” Or, “I look like Donald Trump.”
Stephen Colbert has called Milley the “Argentine Donald Trump.”
Yes, Mirei has big hair and looks good on TV. He is not a traditional politician. But that doesn't make him the “Argentine Donald Trump.”
Millais supports free trade. He opposes protectionist interventions such as tariffs. Unlike Trump, he is an economist who is knowledgeable about economics.
He is seriously considering downsizing the state. In contrast, Trump increased the national debt by $7.8 trillion.
I worked as a reporter for 50 years at NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX. But now I hate most media. They scare people to death about trivial threats and spin left while pretending to be neutral. They routinely denigrate libertarians.
“Libertarian ideology is science's natural enemy,” the Guardian newspaper headlined.
But there's also good news. More and more people are now ignoring left-wing media.
CNN's prime-time viewership these days lags the History Channel, or even an obscure channel that only plays old Westerns.
Today, more people get their news from independent journalists on sites like Substack and YouTube. Like Stossel TV.
This is a good trend because we are more thoughtful than the bigoted people on TV.
Mr. Stossel posts a new video every Tuesday on JohnStossel.com about the battle between government and freedom.
