Justin Timberlake broke his silence in Chicago Friday night after being arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of drunk driving.
The famous singer spoke about the incident four days after his arrest, during the first of two concerts at Chicago's United Center, where Timberlake took the microphone between songs to tell his fans about his arrest in Sag Harbor.
“We've been together through the good times, the bad times, the ups and downs,” Timberlake said. “It's been a rough week, but you're here and I'm here,” he said, before taking a big bow to the cheering crowd.

Timberlake went on to make an emotional comment aimed directly at his fanbase.
“I know sometimes I'm hard to love, but you continue to love me,” he said.
Upon seeing the footage, the crowd cheered and applauded in a show of encouragement and support.

According to court documents, police observed the popular singer running a stop sign at 12:37 a.m. and pulled him over. CBS NewsTimberlake, who was reportedly driving a BMW at the time, allegedly failed to pull over on the right side of the road. According to CBS News, Timberlake told police he had “had a martini” and was following friends home.
Police claim that when they spoke with Timberlake, they found him to be “intoxicated,” with “bloodshot and hollow eyes” and “a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath,” the news outlet reported.
According to the outlet, court documents state the singer “performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests” and refused three breath tests.

According to the outlet, Timberlake is scheduled to appear online in court on July 26.
The famous singer is currently on the “Forget Tomorrow World Tour” and will perform his second concert in Chicago on Saturday.
