Holbrook, Arizona (3TV/CBS 5) –good boy! A K-9 puppy helped deputies arrest a driver reportedly carrying thousands of packages of fentanyl pills and fentanyl powder during a traffic stop near Holbrook Wednesday.Navajo County Sheriff’s office deputies stopped 20-year-old Jesus Alejandro Alvarez Fonseca from driving on State Route 377 for a traffic violation.
During the stop, the deputy said Fonseca gave them fake names and birthdays. I was there. Kilo then got a positive reading and agents searched Fonseca’s car. Lawmakers eventually found over 22,000 fentanyl tablets and 1.5 pounds of fentanyl powder.
Fonseca was arrested and imprisoned in the Navajo County Jail on charges of transporting drugs, possession of drugs for sale, possession of drugs, and misrepresenting the identity of another person. He also had drug charges and an illegal flight warrant.
