Thanks to former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, celebrity politics is over.
Democrats are increasingly relying on A-list celebrities to campaign on their behalf. In 2020, then-candidate Joe Biden had the backing of Hollywood, the music industry, and its brightest stars. And this year, 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris has garnered support from numerous celebrities, especially from Diddy’s World.
In every case, from Taylor Swift to Oprah, Usher to Ben Stiller, lesser-known celebrities have nothing intelligent to say about the candidates they support. — just that the candidate isn’t the spray-on Donald Trump — the tanned dictator from Mar-a-Lago. Harris’ campaign reportedly paid $1 million to Oprah’s company to host a town hall with Oprah. He also spent $20 million on concerts in battleground states. According to to the New York Post. Jon Bon Jovi performed in Detroit and Christina Aguilera sang in Las Vegas. In Pittsburgh, Katy Perry took the stage for Mr. Harris, and in Philadelphia, Lady Gaga won a shilling as her running mate. Rapper 2 Chainz attended a rally in Atlanta three days before Election Day with a unique performance.
In an age of populism, celebrity endorsements always ring hollow, especially when they’re endorsing a deeply unpopular candidate like Harris. To his credit, Trump has garnered celebrity endorsements, including Elon Musk, UFC founder Dana White, and rapper Lil Pump.
But what is the difference between him and Kamala? One group looks down on ordinary Americans. the other celebrates them. Celebrities in Kamala’s camp were preening. Celebrities in the Trump campaign were jubilant — they were campaign entertainers, not fear-mongering rebukes. One side offered Ben Stiller and Andy Cohen to star in a hostage video about feminism and why men should vote for Kamala to break the bloodline. My opponent gave me Elon Musk. jump cheerfully People around the stage say lines like, “The future is going to be great!”
No one, especially Americans, wants to be lectured by someone who is supposed to be morally superior. No one wants to be told what to think, what to eat, and who to vote for.
This election and the future will only intensify the disdain for the establishment elite. Kamala was such a weak candidate and lost so badly that the celebrities clinging to her doomed campaign will not be trusted at all in future elections. That’s good for the country.
