vice president kamala harris elegant Friday’s Vogue magazine cover featured a bold profile of her candidacy.
But her appearance in Elite magazine only reveals how disconnected she and her campaign are from ordinary Americans and the political moment in which we find ourselves.
We live in an age of populism, and while Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, are trying to portray themselves as tributaries of the people, they are both tools of the establishment, and little else. Like all politicians, he is an empty suit promising fundamental reforms. Election campaigns will continue, but only to benefit corporations, banks, and lobbyists once they are in office. Mr. Harris’ “Vogue” photoshoot It’s as telling as the chit-chat sessions Waltz had with Nepobaby Alex Soros, the son of liberal billionaire George Soros. On October 7th, the anniversary of the Israeli Genocide, Harris wrote a book about what most Americans haven’t read and will read, instead of penetrating Jewish American and Muslim communities across the country affected by the war. I’m picking up a traditional fashion magazine without any. As hurricane victims grapple with the devastation, instead of visiting devastated communities in the Southeast, from central Florida to western North Carolina, Ms. Harris rocked Tiffany earrings on behalf of Annie Leibovitz. posing. The cover of Vogue describes Harris as “a modern-day candidate.” Candidates of our time are establishment neoliberals who are at the mercy of Big Tech and Wall Street, who gloat about their commitment to peace but who are willing to continue funding foreign wars. , he is not a warmonger who starts a new war for that purpose.
Leibovitz is a great photographer. Frankly, if I had the chance to have my photo taken by her, I would do it in a heartbeat. So, in a way, I don’t blame Harris. But the timing of this cover couldn’t have been worse. It might be best not to take fancy photos on a day like October 7th.
