KAOL teams open with wins | Kingman Daily Miner

Parker – Jr. F. Lafirenza had three hits and four RBIs, including a home run, in support of Kingman Academy Nip host Parker 16-15 in the mutual season opener on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Freshman Taley Mort added three singles and one double, while senior leadoff hitter Aspen Johnson had one double and two singles. Sophomores Brady Sanders and Lauren Page each had her two hits.

Kingman Academy hit six runs in the top of the seventh and continued to persevere to win.

Junior Alexa Valdes was the Kingman Academy winning pitcher.

Parker-Kingman Academy had 14 hits in a 7-5 victory over host Parker in the boys’ high school baseball season opener on Thursday, February 23.

Senior Gage short had two singles and a double to lead the winners at the plate. Junior Jeremy Steed added three hits, while freshman Riley Otto and junior Cade Benson each had two.

Sophomore pitcher Maddix Young pitched 5.2 innings for the win. Sophomore Blake joins Gilbert in relief.

Odyssey Lab 1

Surprise – The Kingman High School girls’ tennis team got off to a quick start on Thursday, February 25 with a surprise 8-1 victory over the Odyssey Institute.

The Lady Bulldogs singles winners included No. 1 senior Savana Whatley (6-4, 6-2), No. 2 Jasmine Siple (6-0, 6-1) and No. Jr. Victoria Manzilla (6-1). 1. 6-) was included. 2), No. 4 Sophomore Emily Bozak (6-0, 6-1), and No. 6 Sr. Genevieve Foster (6-0, 6-4).

The KHS doubles winners were No. 1 Sipe and Whatley (8-3), No. 2 Monzillo and Bodzak (8-0), and No. 3 freshmen Kierra Shurtz and Foster (8-3).
