DES MOINES, Iowa — Arizona Republican Kari Lake hinted on Friday that her candidacy for the Arizona Senate could be announced in the fall alongside the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa.
“We are looking to make a decision in the next few months,” Lake said. When asked about the schedule, the 2022 gubernatorial candidate said, “Probably sometime in the fall.”
Arizona is poised to be one of the key battlegrounds in the Senate race this fall. Senator Kirsten Cinema switched his political support from Democratic to independent in December 2022, and Democratic Rep. became. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb (Republican) is already in the race.
“Honestly, after seeing the poll results, I believe I’m the only one who can win that race,” Lake said.

The former TV news anchor turned MAGA political star rose to prominence as the 2022 gubernatorial nominee for her failed legal challenge to overturn the election results. Democrat Katie Hobbs defeated Lake by more than 17,000 votes. Lake challenged her election results in her court, but she was unable to persuade an Arizona judge of her wrongdoing.
Most recently, Lake has made headlines for appearing in public with former President Donald Trump in recent months. Mr. Lake has cited Mr. Trump as one of the potential motivations for running for the Senate.
“We have the opportunity to win a very important seat so that when President Trump returns to office, the people of Washington D.C. will be ready to support him on this great agenda.” You can make it look like you are.”
