Kash Patel Indicates FBI Investigating Many More Than 20 Discord Users Related to Charlie Kirk Assassination

FBI Investigates Suspects in Charlie Kirk Assassination

On Tuesday, FBI director Kash Patel announced that over 20 individuals are under deep scrutiny in connection with the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. The investigation focuses on varied online communications, particularly a Discord chat tied to the incident.

Tyler Robinson, identified as a suspect, responded to a friend online who insinuated he might have killed Kirk, which led to a discussion reported on Monday. According to reliable sources, screenshots of these exchanges have surfaced. Republican Senator Josh Hawley reported that there are contradictions in Robinson’s conversations, with Patel mentioning a larger number of individuals involved in the inquiry.

Patel explained the nature of the chats, emphasizing their role in the ongoing legal process. “Unfortunately, there are discrepancies in the chats,” he noted, adding that the suspects engaged in activities within an online gaming chat room. “We are committed to thoroughly investigating everyone linked to the Discord communications,” he said.

When asked by Hawley if it was fair for the FBI to examine this many users, Patel asserted, “It’s more than that. We’re following up on all of them.” This confirms that the FBI is indeed focusing on more than 20 users connected to the assassination.

Hours before his arrest, Robinson posted a message in the chat. He expressed regret, stating, “I was from UVU yesterday. Sorry for all of this.” He reportedly shared that he was “supporting a sheriff’s friend” and thanked the group for the “fun times and laughter.” Meanwhile, Discord has supplied law enforcement with chat messages relevant to the ongoing case against Robinson.

A spokesperson for Discord confirmed that they have identified an account associated with the suspect. They also stated that no evidence has been discovered indicating any planned violence or coordination among the suspects via the platform.
