Kate Morley named MetroPlan Executive Director

The Metroplan Board of Directors has appointed Kate Morley as Executive Director at its June 1, 2023 meeting.

Morley has been in an interim role since March, previously playing the role of Mountain.

Line deputy. In that role, Morley oversaw the organization’s planning department, including long-term planning, capital projects, and grant development.

“The board is very excited to have Kate lead the organization,” said Jim McCarthy, a Flagstaff City Council member and Metroplan board chairman. “She brings to this organization her long history of public service, her knowledge of planning and her track record of success in producing transportation grants.”

Morley was born and raised in Flagstaff. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Arizona with a master’s degree in planning with an emphasis on health and environmental communities.

Prior to joining Mountain Line in 2015, Morley worked as a land use planner in Coconino County.

“I am honored by the trust the board has placed in me and am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead this organization,” Morley said. “We believe there are many opportunities to extend the value Metroplan brings to this community, and we look forward to working with our team and community partners on critical transportation issues.”

The mission of Metroplan, the Flagstaff urban planning organization, is to maximize the financial and political resources for major transportation systems by leveraging cooperation to reduce transportation planning and federal subsidies in metropolitan areas. I am in charge of coordination.

MetroPlan is a partnership of the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona.
