Kathie Lee Gifford reportedly said she had a fall and was rushed to hospital, where she remained for more than a week.
The 70-year-old former “Today” host said he was recovering from hip replacement surgery at the time of the fall. people She was first reported to have told the outlet that she had “stumbled” as she rushed to the front door to meet a friend who had come to pick her up.
“It didn't take long because that area was weak,” Gifford told People magazine, “and the next thing I knew I was back in the hospital with a fractured front and back pelvis. It was worse than any of the pain in my hip. My pelvis hurts like crazy. But anyway, here I am.”

Gifford told People magazine that the fall was so severe that she broke her pelvis in two places, and the publication said she was treated at a hospital and needed physical therapy to heal and recover.
She explained to the store attendant the circumstances leading up to the accident, noting that she had been exerting herself heavily the day before the accidental fall.
Gifford said she was “carrying around 300 books by herself” during a book signing in Nashville, which reportedly took a toll on her.
“I let my body weaken me,” she told People magazine. “And that's my own fault.”

Gifford has remained in high spirits despite the pain and health setbacks, telling People magazine it's a “humbling experience.”
She further reportedly said that she decided to stay in the hospital for a week because she knew it would ultimately be good for her.
“I don't trust myself,” she told the outlet.
The famous TV personality put things into perspective by talking about how her body has changed as she's gotten older.
“You think you know your body, but as you get older you realize your body changes,” she told People magazine.
“I don't want to think about it, but it is,” she told People magazine.
Nonetheless, she takes this in stride.

“God is telling me it's time to slow down. I've been running my whole life. He's telling me, 'You've planted so many roses, it's time to smell them,'” she told People magazine.
