Katie Britt’s Vision for Alabama’s Next Senator
Katie Britt, who is set to become Alabama’s Senator, discussed the qualities she envisions for the successor to U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) in the upcoming 2026 election.
During an appearance on WVNN’s “The Dale Jackson Show,” Britt (R-Montgomery) emphasized that she has two main expectations for Alabama’s next U.S. Senator.
“Strong conservatives,” she stated, expressing a desire for a leader who is both competent and committed to the values they share.
“I’ve learned a lot about my state and its needs. We need someone who can partner with me. For instance, with the Port of Mobile, and across the Black Belt, there’s much to be done. We need allies in the fight to create opportunities for the people we serve,” she explained.
The candidate field for the 2026 Alabama Republican primary currently includes Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and former Navy Seal Jared Hudson, among others speculated to join, like Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl.
When asked about her preferences, Britt repeated her desire for a “strong conservative and teammate.”
She mentioned that she aims to support candidates who are best positioned to advocate for Alabama. “I’ve offered assistance to anyone who’s reached out about their interests. What I truly want is for the people of Alabama to decide the future and ensure we’re aligned in understanding our values and fighting for them,” she remarked.
“I’m excited about the growth in this area,” Britt added.
