Kenneth William Isaac, 87, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023 in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by his family. Ken was born on April 19, 1935, to Leo Isaac and Margaret Isaac. Ken grew up in rural South Dakota, graduating from Holy Cross High School, joining the Marine Corps, then attending college and eventually earning a master’s degree in hospital administration at the University of Minnesota. While in Mitchell, South Dakota after serving in the Marine Corps, he met Gene Isaac and later married her on February 17, 1962, at Holy Family Church in South Dakota. After finishing his internship, he started working for the US government. He runs the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. During his tenure, Ken was highly regarded for all his work and efforts to support public health for all Alaskan residents. In his retirement Ken was an avid reader of history and fiction and traveled whenever possible. Ken was preceded by his beloved wife Jeanne Anne Isaac and his son Christopher. He is left with his children Stephen, Beth, Scott, Thomas, and his grandchildren Sarah and Yusef. Ken’s remains will be buried with his beloved wife at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Maricopa County, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hospice of the Valley.
