Singer Kesha and producer Dr. Luke have released a joint statement announcing that they have reached a settlement in a decade-long defamation lawsuit.
Dr. Luke sued Kesha for defamation in 2014 after accusing her of sexually assaulting her, according to. CNN. “Only God knows what happened that night,” Kesha said in a statement. “As I always say, I can’t tell you everything that happened. I’m looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and starting a new one.”

“I can only wish peace for everyone involved,” Kesha concluded.
Dr. Luke’s response was written directly below Kesha’s response.
“I appreciate Kesha’s acknowledgment that I can’t tell you what happened that night in 2005, but I’m absolutely certain nothing happened.” he said. “I never drugged or assaulted her, and I would never do that to anyone.”
The famous producer went on to explain how the allegations affected his life.
“For the sake of my family, I have fought tirelessly to clear my name for nearly a decade. It’s time to forget this difficult issue and move on with my life,” he said in a statement. .
He concluded by writing, “I wish Kesha well.”

According to CNN, Kesha and Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, were due to face trial in New York this summer. According to CNN, the lawsuit cites celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Avril Lavigne and Taio Cruz as being actively involved in the lawsuit. Dr. Luke denied the allegations and countersued Kesha for defamation. He made false claims about himself when Lady Gaga sent her an email claiming that he and Katy Perry were raped “by the same man” accused her of damaging the reputation of
New York Supreme Court Judge Jennifer G. Scheckter ruled in 2020 that the sentence was defamatory, according to CNN.
Kesha and Dr. Luke’s trial was scheduled to begin on July 19, but has been cancelled.
