Jasven Sangha Pleads Guilty in Connection with Matthew Perry’s Overdose
On Wednesday, Jasven Sangha, often referred to as the “Ketamine Queen,” entered a guilty plea to a federal charge related to the overdose death of Matthew Perry. The 42-year-old has acknowledged five charges, which include maintaining drug-involved facilities and three counts of distributing ketamine, along with one charge linked to distribution that resulted in death or serious injury. According to reports, she is looking at a potential sentence of up to 65 years.
Sangha is set to be held from August 2024, with a sentencing hearing scheduled for December 10.
Perry, who was 54 at the time of his passing, was found unresponsive in his pool’s heating area on October 28, 2023. A medical examiner in Los Angeles County determined that his death was caused by an accidental ketamine overdose. The “Friends” star had openly discussed his struggles with addiction in the past and had used ketamine infusion therapy to manage his depression and anxiety. However, investigations suggested he may have been seeking excessive doses, signifying a deepening dependence on the drug.
Prosecutors have indicated that Sangha collaborated with Eric Fleming to supply ketamine to Perry. Reports suggest that through Perry’s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, they distributed around 51 vials of the medication.
Additionally, prosecutors have claimed that Iwamasa administered ketamine to Perry multiple times. In August 2024, Fleming pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine, while Iwamasa admitted guilt for conspiring to distribute the fatal dose.
