Nick Saban's daughter Kristen has always been outspoken about issues surrounding the team, the fan base, and college football in general.

She took to Instagram on Sunday afternoon to answer questions from curious fans about her take on her father's retirement announcement and how it will affect the family as a whole.

Q: Did you know him? [coach Saban] Were you retired or did you become known to the world?

A: “That morning, my mom let me know that it was being seriously considered but that she wasn't 100% sure. I don't think my father had fully made up his mind until then. I found out on the plane to Florida.”

Q: Is your mother real? [Miss Terry] Have you been diagnosed with dementia?my mother is currently dealing with

A: “No. I don't even know where this came from, but it's absurd. The whole family is healthy. Don't believe everything you read.”

Q: What's going through your head right now?

A: “Honestly, after losing to UM, [Michigan], I felt a strange sense of relief that I wasn't moving forward. This past season was one we will never forget for all the adversity our team faced and overcame, but like any season, it had its challenges. I think many of us were starting to feel exhausted and stressed, at least I think I was. I felt the end coming, but I didn't know when. All I know is that I was feeling tired. ”

Q: What are you most looking forward to doing as a family after soccer?

A: “I think we're all really looking forward to planning long trips as a family and going to places we've wanted to go but haven't been able to due to soccer schedules (like overseas).” It will be really fun to spend time together.”

Q: Lots of questions… What do you think about transfer portals and NIL?!

A: “I feel strongly about everything. I think the game of college football has changed really dramatically. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but from a personal standpoint, I don't think it's a good thing. Things change over time, I understand. You have to adapt to changing times, but it's nice to see something that was once great turn into something else. It's difficult. You can agree or disagree, but my position after seeing the huge changes that have occurred after being in this game for 33 years of my life is this. It's not the same anymore.”

Q: Were you surprised by some of the people who jumped overboard?like [Isaiah] hook up?

A: I don't think it's fair to call it a jumping ship. Everyone has their own goals they want to achieve, and if they lie elsewhere, that's totally fine. We want all of our players to continue to be successful wherever they are and we support them. ”
