FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The forecast for Flagstaff Thursday calls for gusty winds and the possibility of snow showers, conditions to keep an eye on. Residents should prepare for a mix of sunshine and cloudy skies during the day, with the possibility of light snow late Thursday night.

Daytime highs Thursday will be near 49 degrees Fahrenheit, with east to southeast winds up to 15 mph, the National Weather Service said. By Thursday night, temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s F, with a 20% chance of snow after 11 p.m. These conditions can create slippery spots on roads, especially along I-40 and other elevated highways.

The weather is expected to be milder on Friday and over the weekend. Friday and Saturday are expected to be sunny with highs around 46 degrees Fahrenheit and overnight lows in the mid-teens. The wind speed also decreases, making the outdoor environment more comfortable.

Those planning activities for Martin Luther King Jr. Day should expect mostly sunny skies and highs near 38°F. There is a slight chance of snow again late Sunday night, but the chance of accumulation remains low.

Drivers should remain alert during Thursday’s windy day and be aware of the forecast for possible snowfall. Always check road conditions before traveling.
