It's the biggest party of the year in La Paz County. The La Paz County Fair will be held from Thursday, March 7th through Saturday, March 9th at the fairgrounds located at Parker South. This year's theme is “Blue Jeans and County Dreams.”
Fair highlights include the City of Fun Carnival; There will also be a number of eateries offering everything from burgers, corn dogs, frybread and cotton candy to more exotic fare. There will also be many product sales corners.
Youth Livestock Shows are always a big part of the fair, and the Youth Livestock Auction will be held in the Livestock Arena on Saturday, March 9th at 1 p.m.
Pageants are also a big part of the fair. Please note that the Miss La Paz County and Miss La Paz County Outstanding Teen Scholarship contests will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 5:00 PM on the Rotary Stage. In previous years, the contest was held after Friday or Saturday evening.
The Parker Youth Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 10 a.m. on the Rotary Stage.
The exhibition hall will be filled with exhibits from local businesses and government agencies, as well as vendors selling their wares. There will also be displays of 4-H projects and samples of county residents' hobbies and artwork.
Live entertainment will also be held on the exhibition hall stage. Three acts will return this year. Dave and Vicky Trezak offer a unique approach to popular songs. Comedian Skip Banks will perform a comedy show featuring balloons. Master hypnotist Theisen is back with a comedy hypnosis show.
New this year is the Glove of Death motorcycle stunt rider. There are several shows every day.
Mariachi Estrella will appear on the Rotary Stage on Friday night, and One of These Night, an Eagles tribute band, will perform on the Rotary Stage on Saturday night.

The fair itself will be open from 8am to 10pm from March 7th to 9th. The exhibit hall will be open from noon to 9pm every day during the fair. Carnival hours are March 7th from 2:30pm to 11pm, March 8th from 1pm to 11pm, and March 9th from noon to 11pm. Carnival rides are not included in fair admission.
Fair admission is $9 for adults and $7 for seniors 65 and older and children 6 to 12 years old. Children 5 and under are free. Season passes for adults are $25 and season passes for seniors 65 and older and children ages 6 to 12 are $17. Carnival rides and food are not included in admission to the fair.
The fairgrounds are located in Parker South, centered at the intersection of State Routes 72 and 95. When you arrive at Parker South, follow the signs to the fairgrounds.
