Bob Geldof received a message from Sinead O’Connor “full of despair, despair and sorrow” just weeks before his death.

The Boomtown Rats singer has paid tribute to the ‘Mandinka’ singer, who was found dead in his London home while performing at Ireland’s Caven Calling Festival last week, and called his friend ‘ He described her as a “great woman” who was stricken by “terrible despair.” .

He told his fans, “She meant so much to everyone and to us. Her voice represented her soul and spirit. And every time we heard it, we always I will be with a wonderful woman,” he said.

Meanwhile, locals in Bray, County Wicklow, recently spoke of a “guardian ring” that surrounded Sinead when he lived in the town before moving to London shortly before his death.

Town Councilor Erica Doyle told the Irish Independent:

“One day, while walking along the beach, I saw paparazzi starting to gather at the shelter across from my house. I called her to let her know. Or four people said they were already in touch.”

Musician Tom Dalton, who hosted an acoustic singing session at a pub in Bray, didn’t recognize Sinead at first when he joined a group of eight musicians there one night in 2019.

Strumming her guitar, she sang a solo song, then a verse from “Amazing Grace,” ending with a penny and Tom at a bar for a world-famous musician to play.
