Lady Vikings finish regular season first in 1A Canyon with 13-2 record | Williams-Grand Canyon News

WILLIAMS, Arizona — The Williams Lady Vikings have won their last nine games and are ranked fifth in the 1A conference.

The team will play in the Super Regionals this week before heading into the first round of the 1A State Championship on February 7th.

The Vikings have won 9 of their last 10 games and rank 16th in the 1A conference with a 12-4 record. Their fate will be decided at this weekend’s Superregional.

Ash Fork Spartans finished last week with a 1-2 record and a 5th place finish in the 1A Canyons region. The first match of this week’s Super Regional Tournament will be against Red Mesa on January 31st. The winner of that match will face undefeated El Capitan in an away game on February 2nd.

In last week’s game, the Ash Fork lost to the Grand Canyon Phantoms 60-38 before going on to beat Fredonia 52-27.

On January 28, they went to Williams to face the No. 2-seeded Vikings. , leading 10-5 early in the first quarter. The Vikings regrouped and he had a 28–22 lead with one minute left in the third quarter.

The 4th quarter belonged to the Vikings as they continued to build their lead. The final score for the home team, the Vikings, was 44-28.
