A Lake Havasu City man is sent to the Arizona Department of Corrections after seizing nearly 1,000 fentanyl-laced pills in just five months. Cameron McKee, 31, signed a plea deal Monday to settle his two felony drug charges before trial.
Mojave County Deputy Attorney Amanda Clairhaut said officers found about 400 illegal pills when McKee came under traffic control in Lake Havasu City in December 2021. She said McKee had another 574 fentanyls laced with her when officers found her collapsed on the wheels of a car on her 1200 block on Anacapa Drive in April 2022. He said he was in possession of the pills.
Mackey pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted possession of drugs for sale in both cases. Numerous other charges have been dismissed in the plea bargain, ranging from misconduct involving weapons to possession of dangerous drugs.
The terms of the deal call for Judge Billy Sipe to impose a sentence of two to two-and-a-half years at a sentencing hearing on March 3. Judge Sipe should also impose a probation period to finalize a prison sentence.
McKee also has to confiscate a .22 caliber firearm.
