Notes to visitors
- Please take the time to consider the recommended hiking safety tips. Bring more water and snacks than you think you'll need. Go hiking with a friend or tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back. Also consider bringing a carrier bag, emergency blanket, and headlamp. A cane that will keep you from falling!
- Helicopters and drilling crews are working around the Lower Las Vegas area through mid-March 2024 on behalf of the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Its engineering and construction team must perform geotechnical investigations around a new erosion control structure (weir) planned in the downstream area. Helicopter and training operations are performed in remote locations but can be viewed from campgrounds and other areas near the Las Vegas Bay area.
- The National Park Service's annual visitor numbers were released last week, showing more than 5.8 million people visited Lake Mead National Recreation Area in 2023. For a breakdown of park visitor statistics, please see the following link: https://irma.nps.gov/statistics/

- Hemenway Harbor Currently, two docks and four lanes are open. ADA parking has been moved to the dirt lot and parking on ramps is prohibited. The docks and Inuhashiri are moved weekly to accommodate changes in water levels. Be prepared for partial closure. Please start at your own risk.
- echo bayTwo lanes of cement are open. Please start at your own risk.
- south coveThe launch is available from a dirt road south of the launch ramp. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Please start at your own risk.
- Katherine Landing Fishing PierClosed until further notice.

Coalville Bay Marina– Due to rising water levels, the concrete boat ramp is currently open and maintained by the marina. The ramp has been expanded to include a dirt turnaround area and a new complimentary dock has been installed at the bottom.
- The floating snack bar is closed for the season. We have items available for take-home at the store. The Land Store and lounge are closed.
Cottonwood Cove –Cottonwood Cove Cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Retail stores, boat rentals, and fuel docks are open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Desert Princess and Hemenway Harbor– Lake Mead Cruises and Desert Princess are closed for the winter and will reopen on March 31, 2024.
echo bay–RV Park Office Hours: Daily 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Store hours: 8am to 4pm daily
- Land Fuel is available daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Before filling the tank with gas, you must first pay the toll.
katherine landing – Off-season opening hours.
- Retail stores, fuel docks, and pump-out stations are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- No Bad Days Bar and Grill is open Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Las Vegas Boat Harbor and Lake Mead Marina Restaurants– There will only be one restaurant in the marina open during regular business hours. Please contact the marina for schedule. Las Vegas Boat Harbor: 702-293-1191; Lake Mead Marina: 702-293-3484.
Temple Bar Marina–Temple Bar has portable Mobimats installed for marina-managed boat launches. They currently recommend launching boats under 40 feet. If you have any questions, please contact us at 928-767-3211.
- Regular fuel dock hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Stores are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The motel is open, but the restaurant is closed for the season.
Willow Beach Marina and Hoover Dam Rafting Adventure– The store and marina are open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Black Canyon Grill will be closed until March 1, 2024.
- Hoover Dam Rafting Adventure season begins Wednesday, February 28th and runs Wednesday through Sunday

- Lake Mead water level at 7:00 a.m. on February 26, 2024 was 1,076.52 feet.
- Based on the December 2023 operational plan for Colorado River system reservoirs, the Bureau of Reclamation's most likely 24-month forecast through the end of 2024 is 1055.45 feet. BOR has not yet finalized its 2024 operating plan.
