Drowning prevention tips:

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 4, excluding birth defects. Three children die each day from drowning. Here are some tips provided by the CDC on how to protect children around water.

Learn lifesaving skills.

Everyone should know the basics of swimming (floating, moving through water) and CPR.

Surround it with a fence.

Install a four-sided isolation fence with self-closing and self-latching gates around your backyard pool. This helps keep children away from the area when they are not supposed to swim. A pool fence should completely separate the house and playground from the pool.

A life jacket is Must.

Children should always wear life jackets in and around natural bodies of water, such as lakes and oceans, even if they are good swimmers. Life jackets can be used in and around the pool, even for non-swimmers.

watch carefully

Always supervise children closely when they are in or near water (including the bathtub). Drowning occurs quickly and quietly, so adults watching children in or near water should avoid distracting activities such as reading, talking on the phone, or using alcohol or drugs. is.
