The Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce hosted the 35th Annual ATHENA Awards this Friday at the High Country Conference Center. The ATHENA Award is presented to Flagstaff businesspeople who have made an impact on their communities and achieved excellence in their fields. A total of three awards will be given to private sector, public sector, non-profit organizations and young businessmen, called his ATHENA Award for Young Professionals. Lisa Lamberson of Mountain Sports Flagstaff receives her ATHENA award for nonprofits, Devonna McLaughlin of Housing Solutions of Northern Arizona receives her ATHENA award for nonprofits, and Kate Wyatt of Flagstaff Medical Center receives her ATHENA award for young professionals. received the ATHENA Award. This year's keynote speakers were Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and Dr. Kara Christ, former state health director and current chief medical officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. APS President Ted Geisler interviewed Hobbs at the awards luncheon. “I just want to say what an honor it is to share this stage with so many amazing women who are leaders here in the Flagstaff community,” Hobbs said at the gathering.
