Lane Kiffin weighs in on Reggie Bush Heisman reinstatement

Wednesday morning, Today's Breaking News Legendary University of Southern California running back Reggie Bush has reclaimed his 2005 Heisman Trophy after a long ignominious period when he was stripped of it for “receiving improper benefits.”

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, a notorious social media user when it comes to hot topics in college sports, offered his own perspective.

The prevailing opinion for many years has been that Bush should never have lost the Heisman, that the trophy should be returned to him and that Bush himself should regain the good graces of the Heisman committee.

This topic gained further momentum throughout the NIL era due to the fact that the benefits Bush received then would be perfectly acceptable today.

Kiffin, who was Troy's offensive coordinator at the time, posted that the new development was great and that Bush was the best he's ever had.

Bush is considered one of the greatest athletes in the history of college sports and helped lead USC to one of the most impressive runs in sports history.

The 2005 Trojans team was seeking a third consecutive national championship and would have done so had it not been for Vince Young and Texas' heroics in the Rose Bowl.

Kiffin has had a varied career since then, including a brief stint with Oakland in the NFL and one season at Tennessee before taking the head coaching job at USC and being fired after four years.

That led Kiffin to Alabama, where he helped lead Nick Saban's offense into the light of modern college football, and eventually Florida Atlantic University before taking the reins at Ole Miss in 2020.
