Welcome to a new generation of Democrats. You've seen them. In fact, you can't miss them. They're the ones waving Palestinian flags. They're the ones blocking roads and bridges in protest.
They express contempt for America while completely unaware that they did not earn any of the rights they enjoy as citizens, including freedom of speech. Their actions are not only counterproductive, they border on downright blasphemous.
Let’s call this new generation “Politicalists” because they lack faith in their lives and politics has become their religion. They worship in their social media bubble and go out to protest everything America stands for.
We scratch our heads and wonder how we got to this point. When did we hand the microphone over to a new generation of self-centered, entitled young people who have no respect for the sacrifices their forefathers made for this country? And more importantly, how do we take it back?
While most media outlets have focused on this new wave of anti-Semitism, primarily at Ivy League universities, they are appearing in droves across the country. Recently, I listened to a conversation between my 21-year-old daughter and some of her friends. One of them grew up in a conservative household, attended church and pledged allegiance to the flag before soccer games where her father coached, but she was a member of the Politico movement. She vehemently argued that all Palestinian terrorism is justified and that Israel should be eradicated.
I was so shocked that I decided to look further and find out how many of these Polyzionists were from Alabama by looking at college forums in the state. I discovered that this indoctrination has invaded state lines that I once thought were safe. These young people are not just from Ivy League universities, they come from all walks of life and are a tight-knit group.
At a time when Republicans are fighting among themselves, this group has quietly joined hands across the country, and they have no plans to let go.
a Recent Opinion Polls The survey found that 66% of respondents aged 18-24 believe that the Hamas massacre on October 7 constituted genocide. At the same time, 60% believe that the attack was justified by Palestinian grievances, and therefore that genocide against Israelis is justified.
They believe that Israel is oppressing Palestine and therefore hate Jews. If you try to argue with one of the Polyzionists, they will refuse to hear your point of view, get defensive, yell, blush, and go off angrily to post on social media about how terribly misinformed and oppressive the Republican Party is.
It is horrifying to think that the future of this country rests in the hands of such senseless, radical miscreants.
We need to come together and resolve to put this great country back on the right path again, with the same spirit of patriotism and unity that was with us when we first founded it. How can we do this? Stay in touch with your children and talk to them about current events. If they have questions, open a history book or, even better, the Bible. If your children's answers surprise you, take the time to explain to them what is happening in the Middle East.
This war did not start now.
This has been going on for thousands of years. It takes parents, trusted family and friends, and everyone working together to fight what is being said every day on TikTok and other social media apps. Let's get this generation back on the right path before it's too late.
Eleanor Roosevelt expressed it this way: “We believe in equality and justice, and we must demonstrate that our religion teaches faith, love and charity to our fellow men. Each of us has a job to do at home, for we can lose at home, just as we can lose anywhere in the world.”
Laura Johnston Clark is a wife, mother and businesswoman. She grew up in the Wiregrass and currently lives in Birmingham with her husband, retired Air Force Colonel David Etheridge. She is an Alabama Republican.
