Brooke Shields says Tom Cruise brutally shamed her for taking medication after giving birth.
The iconic model and actress opened up about her public feud with the “Mission: Impossible” star in her new memoir, “Brooke Shields Isn’t Allowed to Grow Old.” According to New York Post. The 59-year-old said she had to defend herself against Mr. Cruise’s comments in 2005, when he admitted he needed medication to overcome postpartum depression. Shields wrote in her memoir that she left because Cruz “disrespected” her and made “dangerous” comments. She was deeply hurt.

Shields and Cruise got into a heated argument in 2005 when the Scientologist shamed her for using drugs to treat postpartum depression. Shields gave birth to her first child, daughter Rowan, in 2003 and spoke candidly about her postpartum experience in her 2005 memoir, Down Came the Rain.
“There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance,” Cruz said. said Matt Lauer on “Today” in 2005.
“What I’m saying about Brooke is that there’s misinformation,” he said.
Cruz went on to say to Shields, “And she doesn’t understand the history of psychiatry.”

He “appalled me,” she writes in her recent memoir. The famous actress went on to say, “I’ve never been the kind of person to get into a fight in public.”
Shields explained why she called out to him.
“If Tom had been violent with me in public before I became a mother, I probably would have kept quiet,” she wrote in her memoir, according to the New York Post.
“If it were me, I would have ignored his ridiculous rants. I would have been content to sit back and watch while this very famous man hijacked my experience to further his own (deceptive) agenda.” “Maybe he was,” Shields said.
“I would have been satisfied if his actions spoke for themselves.”
Shields said turning 40 before the feud erupted gave her perspective on the issue.
“Sitting quietly and letting myself be attacked might have been my approach 10 years ago. I never regret sharing my story, or I don’t want to talk to an influential man. I may have felt worried that my career was stalling while movie stars singled me out, she wrote, according to the New York Post.
It seems that the famous actress has moved on from that moment.
