Left-Wing Activists Complain as Kennedy Center Recognizes Employees for Their Work

Kennedy Center Staffing Changes Spark Controversy

Richard Grenell has made headlines by promoting staff members at several successful Kennedy Centers, leading to complaints from the left almost immediately.

A source affiliated with the Kennedy Center indicated that some staff members are reacting so negatively to the news of Grenell’s leadership that they’ve left their positions instead of trying to collaborate with the new administration. Despite mainstream media narratives about a staffing crisis, Grenell has actually promoted many employees since taking the helm. Just this week, for instance, nine of the fourteen promotions came from the programming department, which highlights the focus on expanding future offerings at these historic venues.

“We’re broadening our Kennedy Center programming to include fan favorites that resonate with the public, offering more options,” stated PR vice president Roma Daravi to reporters.

Interestingly, a close source mentioned that about 80% of those who received promotions were already part of the staff before the arrival of President Donald Trump and Ambassador Rick Grenell. Yet, this doesn’t seem enough to quell the complaints coming from the left.

Another point of contention arose from the termination of three individuals from the dance programming department in early September. According to a Kennedy Center insider, staff were given several chances to propose new ideas during this transitional period; however, their lack of initiative left management with little choice but to step in.

Nakagawa, a previous dancer from Ballet West’s apprenticeship program in Salt Lake City, has now been appointed as the new dance director at the Kennedy Center. Nakagawa has expressed support for the facility’s new direction, which she views as a counter to what she calls the “radical left-wing ideology of ballet.”
