Legendary Buckeyes Coach Jim Tressel Confirmed As Ohio Lieutenant Governor

From winning the National Championship to serving the people of Ohio… Jim Tressel can do it all.

The legendary head football coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes is now the state’s lieutenant governor.

Tressel was confirmed Wednesday by both the Ohio home and the Senate, 2 days After Gov. Mike DeWine, he was chosen to become his second in charge. Tressel fills the vacancy for Senator John Husted, who replaced Vice President J.D. Vance in the Senate in January.

Republicans praised Tressel, who retired in 2023 as president of Youngstown State University 10 years later. (Related: Kitrump is becoming a legitimate golf superstar in the $1.2 million valuation: Report.

“Why don’t you make someone who wears a sweater vest look great again?” said Republican state Sen. Al Katrona.

Demora, a Democratic Sen. Bill Demora, wore one of the Al football coach’s signature sweater vests at the celebration, so Tressel received support from the left.

Jim Tressel has been known as an Ohio State football coach for 10 years and won the 2002 National Championship at my beloved Miami Hurricane.

I honestly didn’t think Jim Tressel was considered by the governor of li throughout Ohio. Hell, I didn’t even know he was a Republican. But it’s pretty cool to watch.
