Leonda Lines Obituary – Yuma, AZ

Renda Line, daughter of loyal daughters, precious sisters, eternally beloved aunts, excellent teachers and amazing friends, Leonda Line, Wilton Henry Line and Teda Butler, left this deadly Earth for a glorious reunion with her parents and brother Randy on November 21, 2024.

Render was born to the birth of six brothers and sisters, Lanell (Gary Keith Moore), John Wilton (Claudia Curtis), Alvin Keith (Shirley Ricks and Arlene Larson Schaffer), Carol (Steven Walter Randgreen), Thomas Butler (Melanie Krasno) and Randall David Days. Those siblings are parents of 38 children. Leonda loved these nie and nephe as if they were their children. They are parents of 196 great and nephews. And great and -nephews are the parents of 44 great grandchildren. Leonda knew and loved each of them, and they knew and loved her.

Grandma wrote:

“For this wonderful woman, my love for crafting and baking has been planted in me. She sewed out a wedding dress for me, helped me with a bridesmaid dress and taught me about baking.

“We said goodbye to her…and it was a very bittersweet moment.

“I love Aunt Leonda. Rest in the arms of my parents, my baby brother, my father in heaven. Man, what a reunion we’ll see!”

Leonda made the cards when it became popular. A card that matches her like a glove hand. She loved creative art and loved people who were passionate. Leonda sent homemade birthday cards to everyone she loves. Adults will receive their precious cards, while children will receive their cards that include a $5 bill. Pick up the 394 birthday cards that you send to her family only each year.

One of those friends was Phyllis Ferguson, whose friendship like Christ was unparalleled. Thank you to her. And thank you to Carol and Steve. They, together with John, Claudia and their family, did everything Leonda couldn’t do for him. For our sister, for my aunt Lee, she was an honor to be ‘san. Gentle”!

Leonda has successfully prepared a life of service in preparation for her participation in the National Honor Society of Uma Union High School, the president of the future housewives of America, and many clubs. She graduated from Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education and later earned a Masters in Educational Computing from Pepperdine University. The preparations were made in Lawndale, Lawndale, California, at Chibora High School in Yuma, Arizona, where he taught stained glass and sewing classes to adults in the community, leading to decades of education with thousands of other educational opportunities. Render loved her students, they loved her and often voted for her best teacher.

She worked for the Yuma Department of Justice and provided appropriate community service for young people in the judicial system. She also reviewed entries at the County Fair for years and processed county fair ticket sales at Yuma High School.

Raised by service-oriented parents in an environment of character building principles, Leonda picked up baton and began teaching primary at the age of 12, teaching and serving in the local congregations of the Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ throughout her life. She frequently served as a pianist and organist in church services. No matter what she did, she gave her heart and soul.

My grandfather expressed what many people feel. “My aunt Leonda, you were more than an aunt. You were my second mother. Your love, wisdom and warmth have shaped so much of the people today. The first lesson taught me in the kitchen.

“More than anything, Auntie, no one ever loved their nie or neo in the way you love us. Your love was fierce, unconditional and unwavering. It made us feel like we felt that we were your first priority, regardless of distance or time.

“Your love lives on in all of us. The lessons you taught, the memories we made, and the joy you bring to every corner of our lives will never go away. We will always carry your spirit.

“Leonda means “lion.” Leonda lived in her name. She became more intense about giving love. We will be blessed recipients.

Viewing will be held at 10am, followed by a funeral on Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at 11:00am, with funerals held in the Yuma Valley District of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4300 West 16th Avenue, Yuma, Arizona.
