When I read the comments on The Miner about “neutralizing” Trump in Rants and Raves, it sent shivers down my spine.
Snowflakes out there need to understand that our nation was built on debate. Our Founding Fathers debated the wording and drafting of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. However, neither side wanted the opposition to be “neutralized”. If you don’t like what people say, don’t listen!
We don’t all agree, but we can’t expect people who don’t agree with us to stop talking. Freedom of speech is not just one-sided about what you like. We will not send the speech police to restrict verbal opinions.
We the People means all of us. It is not the Americans who try to silence the opposition. But I don’t want to neutralize their perspective.
The opposition will be shut down with a dictatorship, not with a representative republic like ours. Ben Franklin said we would have a republic if we could keep it. do we protect that freedom?
