Liam Payne’s girlfriend broke her silence about his death with a short message on her Instagram Story on October 18th.
Kate Cassidy has spoken out about the sudden death of the former One Direction star, with whom she had been on holiday shortly before the tragic incident.
“Thank you for all the kind words and love you have shown me,” she said. “I was completely lost,” Cassidy continued. “The last few days have felt unreal.”
Cassidy was first linked to Payne in 2022, when they were with him in Argentina. Hours before her death, Payne posted several videos of her vacation with Cassidy on Snapchat, documenting the fun times they had together.
Cassidy spoke to fans and asked for time to heal.
“I ask and pray that you will grant me grace and space to resolve this matter privately,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Then she wrote a few words directly to Payne.

“Liam, my angel. You are everything,” she wrote.
“I want you to know that I love you unconditionally and completely. I will always love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.”
Cassidy ended her emotional eulogy with the angel number 444, which represents love and support.
Payne died after falling from the third-floor balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel on October 16. He was pronounced dead at the scene, aged 31.
Initial reports said the hotel manager called 911 for help shortly before his death. The caller reportedly requested immediate assistance for a guest who was “overwhelmed by drugs and alcohol.” TMZ.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the death. An autopsy was ordered.
