Liberal Media Outlets Label Deceased GOP Senator Climate ‘Denier’ In Obituaries

Following the death of former Republican Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe on Tuesday, liberal media outlets dwelt on his views on climate change in their obituaries.

NYT headline read “Climate change denier Senator James M. Inhofe dies at 89,” and was described as “perhaps Washington's most prominent denier of the established science of man-made climate change.”

Politico's original headline read, “Ex-Sen. Jim Inhofe, who called climate change a 'hoax,' dies at 89.” according to In a screenshot posted to X (formerly Twitter), the headline now states that Senator Inhofe's career has been “marked by battling climate science,” and the article describes him as “a proud critic of the overwhelming scientific consensus on man-made climate change.”

“Headlines are regularly A/B tested and rotated based on several factors, including engagement,” a Politico spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The AP's headline read, “Inhofe Calls Human-Caused Climate Change a Hoax” and that he is known for “denying that human activity is the cause of most climate change.”
