‘Like, What?!’: MSNBC Hosts Mock Voters Over Exit Poll Showing Immigration As Top Issue

On Tuesday night, an MSNBC host mocked voters over the results of a Virginia exit poll that asked voters about the biggest issues driving them to the polls in the 2024 election.

A majority of voters in Virginia's Republican primary said immigration was the most important issue in deciding who to vote for, according to an NBC News exit poll. MSNBC host Jen Psaki, who was President Joe Biden's press secretary, was perplexed by the poll results during the station's Super Tuesday coverage.

“I mean, if you look at some of these exit polls. I mean, I live in Virginia. Immigration was the biggest issue. So, again, this could change. '' Psaki said.

“Well, Virginia has a border with West Virginia,” interjected MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, causing the panelists to burst into laughter. “Build a wall.”

“Yes, but you're thinking, what?” Psaki asked. “I mean, when I was in New Hampshire, people were talking about the northern border being a threat. Because it's instilled in you.”

37% of Virginia Republican primary voters chose immigration as their top issue. according to NBC 4 to Washington. The economy was the second most important issue for voters at 33%, followed by abortion and foreign policy at 11%. Trump has made the border crisis a key issue during his campaign, promising to crack down on mass deportations if elected.
