Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham on Sunday slammed CBS host Margaret Brennan for defending FBI Director nominee Kash Patel, saying she needs to “worry about reporting the news fairly.” He said there is.

Since President-elect Donald Trump nominated Patel, Democrats have opposed her, while Republicans have expressed concerns about the FBI’s past leadership. While Mr. Graham ignored Mr. Barr’s claims, Mr. Brennan continued to press his case and highlighted other officials who supported Mr. Patel. “I won’t say anything,” Graham replied. “Yes, I’m ready to vote for Kash Patel because you’ll never ask me for his role in exposing the FBI’s darkest moments since J. Edgar Herbert. That’s why I trust him.”

Brennan fired back one last time, telling the senator: I’m interested in the answer to that. ”

“Yeah, I’m sure his Democratic friends will ask him,” Graham said. “You don’t have to worry about Kash Patel. You should worry about reporting the news fairly, but not when it comes to everything about Trump.”

Patel served as chief of staff to the Secretary of Defense during the Trump administration. During his time in office, he voiced sharp criticism of Robert Mueller’s investigation into allegations of “Russian interference” in the 2016 presidential election, which ultimately turned out to be a diversion.

Traditional media pundits and other political guests continued to exaggerate claims that President Trump colluded with the Russian government to defeat then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, but Steele was used as evidence. The document was later discredited and revealed to have been funded by rebel research. Clinton’s election campaign.

Patel’s hearing before senators is expected to be held soon, but no date has been set as of Sunday.
