Yuma — Cofa High School Principal Lillian Kampa was recognized as Administrator of the Year by the Arizona Latino American Administrators Association (AZALAS).
Each year, the AZALAS Board recognizes one member of each cohort for this award. This year, Kampa was nominated out of his 36 cohorts. This will be Kampa’s second year in the program. She is also enrolled in the Aspiring Superintendent Academy.
Kampa said: It helps me make important decisions. The Aspiring Leaders Program has inspired me to do more, do more, be intentional and never lose my reason. ..The kids!”
The most important criteria for the Manager of the Year award include workshop participation, active participation, inclusive and ethical leadership role models, value of diverse experiences and perspectives, commitment to a diverse community, It includes a commitment to student academic growth, and the well-being of all students.
AZALAS is designed as an additional professional development opportunity for leaders interested in leadership and supervision.
