A Texas rapper was arrested Thursday and charged with kidnapping a woman and holding her captive in his garage for more than four years, FOX26 Houston reported.
Lee Carter, 52, the Houston rapper known as “Viper,” was arrested at a local motel and charged with aggravated kidnapping after holding a woman against her will in his garage, court documents say. Quoted. fox 26.
FOX26 reported that Carter approached a 30-year-old pregnant woman who was begging and offered to help her. The woman claims Carter took her to her home, locked her in her garage, forced her to take drugs and repeatedly sexually assaulted her, according to the newspaper. “Our hearts go out to the woman involved,” said Houston Police Department Chief Michael Collins. “She's a victim.”
Jed Bates, one of Carter's neighbors, claimed that “the whole thing always happened at 3 a.m.” I move around and return home. It was pretty crazy moving people to the front and to the garage,” FOX26 reported.
The woman claimed that once firefighters and police arrived at Carter's home, she was able to break out a garage window and crawl out, but “she ended up being taken to the hospital.” [Carter] …I went to get her,” and took her back to his residence. huffington post report.
According to HuffPost, the woman contacted police through the TextNow app after Carter allegedly allowed the victim to use his laptop on April 7. When police found her, she was severely malnourished and she claimed she had not showered in months, the newspaper reported.
Carter was able to evade police until his arrest on Thursday, FOX26 reported.
Police do not know where the woman is or what happened to the infant, who may have been involved in the incident, the report said.
Carter is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, the newspaper said. houston chronicle.
