Local students and healthcare collaborators recognized

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Regional Center for Border Health (RCBH) quarterly conference recognized students who won several bilateral competitions and received awards for 30 years of bilateral collaboration from both sides of the border. it was done.

The RCBH-sponsored Bilateral Health and Environmental Council of Yuma County, Arizona and San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora (COBINAS) announced that they celebrated holding their first quarterly meeting of 2024.

The ceremony was led by RCBH CEO Amanda Aguirre and COBINAS co-presidents and representatives.

We also delivered plaques to students who won the Bilateral Clean Air Calendar 2024 Annual Edition and the 1st Special Education Edition Calendar.

RCBH said the council honored two student teams who won the first bilateral awareness video contest.

The contest included preparatory committees from San Luis Rio Colorado and El Golfo de Santa Clara, Sonora, as well as high schools from Yuma County, Arizona.

According to RCBH, the University of San Luis Rio Colorado announced that students from the National School of Higher Education, Perla Llanes Siqueiros Parada, Valeria Olmos Mitchell, and Edwin Gerardo Miranda Miranda, were the winners.

Cibola High School student Cesar Uliver won first place in Yuma County, Arizona.

RCBH said its members were recognized for 30 years of bilateral cooperation in implementing programs to detect, reduce and prevent tuberculosis in the Arizona-Sonora border region.

RBCH also said that the main speaker at the COBINAS conference will be Dr. Natalia Navarro Lagunas, Director of Neurodevelopmental Support at the Sonora Ministry of Health.

According to RCBH, Dr. Navarro Lagunas announced that 11 clinics implementing this model will be set up in 11 Sonorum cities, including San Luis Rio Colorado.
