Marianne Williamson, a leading Democratic presidential candidate and self-help author, has lost even more campaign staff following the resignation of several officials, Politico reported Thursday.
Mr. Williamson recently announced that Carlos Cardona will be head of political campaigns, making him the third person to head a campaign since the presidential election began in March. The race to access Mr. Williamson’s ballot resulted in the resignation or dismissal of six campaign staffers, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal matters, according to multiple people familiar with the situation. Other sources said that Williamson’s loss was attributed to staff members at a recent meeting expressing concern that the campaign was focused on a candidate’s social media presence rather than access to ballots. He told Politico that it happened.
“There was an atmosphere during the meeting that she felt attacked, and at the end of the call there was an insinuation that some staff members would not be available for the weekend,” a source told Politico.
“She didn’t listen to anything I said,” another woman said. “It is clear that those who expressed their dissatisfaction were fired.”

Mr. Williamson ran for president in 2020, but was unsuccessful and withdrew from the Democratic primary in January. She immediately endorsed independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for president.
Several former staffers who participated in Williamson’s first presidential campaign have voiced their experiences with the self-help author, describing her as cruel and unpredictable. Others recalled Ms Williamson throwing her cell phone at them, hitting cars and calling staff members saying she was overweight.
“You would think that the journalistic focus of Marianne Williamson’s campaign would be on her poll wins, her major political support and new supporters, but that’s not the case. We are again responding to internal staffing decisions made to strengthen our position on this issue, “the presidential primary,” a campaign spokesperson told Politico. “Every campaign and company will face difficult staffing decisions to adjust strategy and utilize resources more efficiently.”
Real Clear Politics (RCP) average President Joe Biden has a nearly 50-point lead in the 2024 National Democratic presidential primary, based on polls conducted from June 5 to June 26, ahead of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and William. Mr. Song has the support of 14.4% and 5.7% respectively.
