Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina on Monday blasted Democrats, condemning a fiery rant made by Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York during a weekend campaign rally.
Scott appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” to respond to comments made by Bowman and other left-leaning lawmakers during a campaign rally on Saturday. After footage of Bowman using vulgar language while calling for a ceasefire in Gaza in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was aired, Fox guest host Kayleigh McEnany asked the lawmaker what he thought. “Kaley, let me just say this: They're losing their minds because they're losing voters. There's no question his behavior is unbecoming of a member of Congress, no question about that. But more importantly, this is Joe Biden's Democratic Party. The activity we're seeing here today is complete insanity. There are indications of their anti-Semitic views,” Scott said.
“They say every single day that they want to stay in power at the expense of the people. They want to divide the Republican Party, they want to divide the American people, because they believe that by dividing America, they will gain more power, and once they have more power, their policies will become American policies. I truly believe that, Kaylee.”
“The good news is Joe Biden's Democratic Party is on the verge of collapse. Four more years of President Donald Trump will bring law and order to our streets. We will respect our elected officials because we will rid Congress of people who act and behave like Rep. Bowman. It is despicable to hear the words he spits at Jewish citizens. It is despicable to watch him turn his back on Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East. To make matters worse, AOC's squad rushes to the rescue, which only reinforces the point that the entire squad is anti-Semitic and their actions are un-American,” Scott said.
Video footage circulated online over the weekend showed Bowman and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., trying to rally voters at a rally in the South Bronx. While Ocasio-Cortez introduced Bowman, repeatedly asking the crowd if they were ready to “fight,” and jumping up and down on stage, Bowman took a different approach when addressing the crowd.
At one point during his speech, Bowman pranced around the stage to pump up the crowd and could be heard yelling, “We're going to show them who we are” as he discussed his call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“What am I supposed to do? You're coming after me, you're coming after my family, you're coming after my children. Shouldn't I fight back? Shouldn't I fight back?” Bowman yelled. “We're going to show them who we are!”
